The frame is a wooden embroidery hoop, a feature in itself with its double ring. The width of the hoop also allows it to be easily mounted by sitting the hoop on top of a nail, rather than using a hanging loop for aesthetics.
 
Handmade in South Australia using high quality ribbons and yarns including Australian cotton string and ropes, jumbo bobbiny braided cord, recycled sari silk yarn and merino wool yarn. A range of weaving techniques have been used with a focus on knots and loops.
 
This red and blue round woven wall hanging is a one of a kind piece and measures approx. 20.5cm across the hoop and 60cm long to the tip of the fringe.
 
Woven tapestries are designed to be displayed on one side only. I have hung slightly off centre to allow the cascading fringe to be centred, however you could hang centred with an off centre fringe.
