Join Sarah from Vada Blue for an introduction to tapestry loom weaving on Tuesday 12th of March from 10am till 2.00pm
This workshop is ideal for complete beginners or those wanting a refresh and to create amongst others.
Our workshop will run for Approx 4 hours in Cherry Gardens at the Community Hall on Cherry Gardens Road. During this time you will be guided through the basics of tapestry weaving from start to finish. On completion you will have created a small bespoke woven wall hanging to take home using yarn and fibres that you have chosen.
Included in the workshop are all supplies. A large range of fibres will be available in various colour palettes for you to choose from, helping you to create a piece that is uniquely yours.
A beginners lap loom, warp, weaving comb, needle and shuttle are also included. This is what you will be weaving on throughout the workshop. These are yours to keep and continue weaving with.
Please note there is also an option for NO take home loom kit. You can still use our looms to work on throughout the session or you can choose to bring your own small loom if you have one.
What you'll learn:
- How to warp your loom.
- An introduction to weaving terms, tools and accessories
- Learn a variety of Weaving techniques and knots such as twining, tabby, soumak among others
- Tips and tricks for success
- Securing and removing your weave from the loom.
- Hanging your tapestry
At the end of your workshop you will have the skills to repeat what you have learnt and create future weavings on your very own loom.
I have a minimum of 4 bookings to run workshops held at location. Should our workhops need to be cancelled by Vada Blue, a full refund will be offered.
Please use the local pick up shipping option to remove any shipping costs. Our new location and workshops are wheelchair friendly.
